O-Ring is a loop of elastomer with a round cross-section. It is designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface. O-ring is one of the most common seals used in machine design because it is inexpensive and easy to make, reliable, and has simple mounting requirements. In some cases, o-ring is used with back-up ring.
Features:
Cost-effective & ease of service
In many cases o-ring can be reused
To require very little room
To seal over a wide range of pressure, temperature and tolerance.
